Cold Air Intake Upgrades
A cold air intake replaces your factory intake system with a higher-flow design that pulls in cooler, denser air from outside the engine bay. This improves the amount of oxygen entering the engine, allowing it to burn fuel more efficiently and produce more power.
Most systems include a larger intake tube, high-flow performance filter, and either a sealed airbox or open-element design. Compared to stock components, the result is less restriction and smoother airflow, especially under acceleration.
WHAT IT DOES
Increased Airflow: Reduces restriction and improves overall engine breathing
Improved Throttle Response: Delivers quicker acceleration when you get on the gas
Enhanced Engine Sound: Adds a deeper, more aggressive intake tone under load
Supports Performance Builds: Pairs perfectly with tuning, exhaust, and supercharger upgrades
Better Efficiency: Helps optimize combustion when combined with proper tuning
Clean Engine Bay Look: Upgraded systems add a more refined, performance-focused appearance
WHY IT MATTERS
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR
Hot Air Exposure: Poorly designed systems can pull heat from the engine bay and reduce performance
Low-Quality Filters: Cheap materials can restrict airflow or allow debris into the engine
MAF Calibration Issues: Some intakes require tuning to maintain proper air/fuel ratios
Over-Oiling Filters: Can damage mass airflow sensors and affect drivability
Poor Fitment: Improper sealing can lead to inconsistent performance and airflow leaks
